WALKING THROUGH AUTUMN FESTIVAL

After the success of this year’s Love Nature Festival in June, The National Trust for Jersey organised informative walks this September for locals and tourists to enjoy, and with the great weather we’ve been having this summer there was no need for waterproofs!

As we had previously worked with Jersey Tourism and Visit Jersey on various similar literature it was a pleasure to revisit this type of work and apply National Trust branding and experience to design an informative guide to inspire people to get out in the fresh air and enjoy our beautiful island. There are always new experiences to enjoy in Jersey especially with the walks being led by local guides. The festival took place 12 – 16 September in various parts of the Island and included a coastal forage and a bat walk at sunset all led by knowledgeable guides. We designed and supplied an A5 guide printed in full colour with scenic imagery and a useful online version.

THE TOAD TRAIL

We also had the pleasure of having previously produced an A6 illustrated booklet, detailing the new ‘Toad Trail’ in St Lawrence, an extensive area of woodland and meadow land immediately adjacent to Hamptonne Country Life Museum. It has enabled them to not only further protect the surrounding area, but also extend the existing footpaths in Waterworks Valley. To further enhance the area the Trust commissioned Michelle Cain, an environmentalist artist, to design a sculpture trail along the footpath that follows the life cycle of everyone’s local favourite, the Jersey Crapaud. 

THE TOAD TRAIL

The trail is open to the public and is a great way to spend an Autumnal Sunday afternoon with friends or family. The large willow toad at the end of the trail really is an impressive sight to see!
