 T&G – BRAND DEVELOPMENT

Project Scope.

One of the most challenging, and gratifying aspects of design is brand development, and at The Idea Works every brand project starts the same way. We meet with our clients to discuss and evaluate their business identity and services. The visual presentation used in communication is more than simply design; it is a reflection of a company. You want to make sure that visual presentation speaks the same language as what’s being said in any text, audio or video.T&G Limited – Chartered Structural and Civil Engineers, came to us recently to give their brand a new lease of life. A company with over 28 years of experience in the industry, T&G deliver solutions throughout the Channel Islands for many projects, from small domestic to large commercial. With the problem solving nature of their business, it seemed apt to deliver a brand that would reflect this.

BUILDING THE BRAND

As with every project, through visual research we explore several ideas. Most notably during this project our focus was on ‘Bauhaus’ inspired design. A movement which had a major influence on the development of Graphic Design and other creative industries, Bauhaus looked to unify art, craft, architecture and technology. Focusing on several typographical treatments of the lettering ‘T&G’, we developed a logo that reflected these values.

THE GUIDELINES

We then set about creating a brand along with a clear set of brand and usage guidelines outlining colour palettes, typography, logo usage and use of photography. This was then implemented into the design of all brand material.

The next element was to design and create a new website implementing the new branding to showcase the company, its team, services and achievements.
